Synopsis

The discovery of a woman’s body, bearing the marks of a brutal knife attack, sends Inspector Wallander on a desperate search for the victim's daughter, a pursuit that ultimately leads him to a serious misjudgment. In his personal life, he finds an unexpected connection with Linda’s father-in-law, a retired naval officer who receives a disturbing birthday card. Troubled by a growing sense of unease within himself, Wallander seeks medical counsel.
