Cristina’s appearance in Valeria’s book is a source of excitement, as she recounts her life story with vibrant energy. Yet, as Valeria explores Cristina’s childhood in Adra – a time when she went by the name Joselito – long-buried pain begins to surface. Recalling the persistent abuse she endured from both her mother and the community, Cristina compels Valeria to confront her own family and share her truth about transitioning.
