I decided to give this Australian show a try because Tim Minchin, who I consider my favorite atheist, is both the creator and one of its stars, but also due to positive recommendations. Those suggestions were definitely warranted; it’s easily among the best comedic shows I've encountered since Gavin & Stacey. The main characters find themselves in a situation where they are forced to travel together on what essentially functions as a road trip movie, despite their clear reluctance. Each of them is burdened with hidden truths that gradually come to light. This creates many funny moments, even though the show tackles weighty themes. What appeals to me most is its fundamentally kindhearted nature. There’s one female character who initially acts as an obstacle for the protagonists, but ultimately reveals a different facet of herself that feels both fulfilling and unexpected. I've marked this series to rewatch it at least once, and likely several times after that. If you have the opportunity, be sure to check it out.
