Synopsis

The events surrounding a massive Aztec sacrifice occurring over four days in 1411 are considered. The ritual involved a priest making an incision beneath the rib cage of each victim, reaching within to sever the arteries and veins connected to their heart before extracting it. Following this act, the body was then propelled down the steps of the altar.
