The performances are commendable, and it’s an interesting crime story, though ultimately hampered by familiar inclusivity themes. Amongst its strengths is the unusual backdrop: a Welsh community facing rising sea levels. The central mystery—two child murders that remain unsolved—is unsettling and full of surprises. The acting is consistently good, presenting believable characters with imperfections. However, the weaknesses are unfortunately foreseeable. There’s an obvious push to incorporate diversity and inclusion messaging, which I find irritating and unnecessary. It has the potential to be something really special, but the insistence on adding socially conscious storylines diminishes what should simply be enjoyable viewing. It's a passable series overall.
