Synopsis

In 1922, Carter at last located the Pharaoh’s tomb, yet he was compelled to delay opening the sealed doorway for weeks, awaiting the presence of local officials. The discovery itself was further dimmed by rising tensions within Egypt as the movement for independence gained momentum. Adding to the complications, Carter's dealings with the press created difficulties for Carnarvon, ultimately straining their relationship during a moment that should have been shared in triumph.
