I decided to check this one out based on the preview, and also because I’ve only seen one other Thai series that wasn’t LGBTQ-themed—I’d like to broaden my horizons with more non-LGBTQ Thai shows. The story centers around Peera, a police officer investigating a serial killer in 1985. His pursuit leads him to a tunnel, and upon exiting, he unexpectedly finds himself transported to 2018. Initially, he's unaware of this time jump and needs some time to adjust. I have to say that, for me at least, the show felt very predictable. Every guess I made turned out to be right, which is rare and made me feel pretty clever. It’s hard to know if that was intentional on the part of the creators, a consequence of it being a 2019 series, or just a case of my being unusually perceptive. Even with its predictability, though, it's still an enjoyable show with well-developed characters. Korn is definitely my favorite character <3 However, we have to talk about the romance aspect. Is there any? To some degree, yes. I was initially annoyed because I generally dislike romance—it often detracts from a series or simply loses my interest. Who would want romance in a time-traveling serial killer crime show? Not me! It’s not overly prominent, though, and it's not the focus of the story. It feels more like a side dish, like the baked potato that comes with your steak. I also tend to dislike female characters, and I didn't initially care for the main female character, Danika. I really wasn’t looking forward to seeing more of her throughout the show. But she eventually won me over, possibly due to later plot developments or because I decided to give her a chance. The ending was fantastic; I almost cried, but Peera had some funny lines that made me smile. I'm adding extra credit for including one of my favorite tropes—the “someone is murdered at a rest stop and then a sudden storm traps everyone there while they all suspect each other.” It’s perfect. Another bonus point goes to the show for having a cool logo; the second N in "Tunnel" is backwards, which looks nice. Basically - it's predictable but still really good, and worth watching if you don't mind reading subtitles.
