I happened upon this series unexpectedly; I haven’t been consuming much American television lately. However, growing up with plenty of Stallone action movies meant that some nostalgia and interest prompted me to give it a look. The storyline isn't particularly groundbreaking anymore—the Mafia-esque elements are familiar territory. It seems like a good decision to present this as a dark comedy, which suits the type of character Stallone portrays. Still, the central question is whether it’s enjoyable, and I would say “kind of.” It’s nice to see Stallone back in television. Unfortunately, at least for now—and I understand it's early days—the narrative feels a bit simplistic. Even as a comedy, it occasionally asks too much of the audience and doesn’t have the sharp humor or appeal that would make it more engaging. Ultimately, Stallone’s popularity will likely attract viewers, but will they stick around? I remain unsure unless the show increases its complexity by creating a smarter, more amusing story about an aging mobster.
