Season Rating: 9/10 Overall Rating: 9/10 This first season was fantastic! 'Traces' is some really good television. I appreciate the show being set in Dundee, Scotland, and I thought the casting choices were great. Molly Windsor does a wonderful job as Emma, and Martin Compston brings something special to the role of Daniel. There are also very strong performances from Michael Nardone, Laurie Brett, and Vincent Regan, among others. The story moves along well, and the episodes being fairly brief (~43 minutes) makes it an easy six hours to enjoy. The plot is really captivating. The series does a wonderful job of creating an atmosphere where you can’t be sure who to believe, and I spent quite some time trying to figure out exactly what was going on. The ending of the first season feels completely resolved. Other things I liked were the visuals and the music; I especially like the opening theme song. I really hope they decide to do another season.
