Top Gear — Series 14
Top Gear roared back onto BBC Two and BBC HD for its fourteenth season in November 2009, bringing Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May, and of course, The Stig, back to screens across seven exhilarating episodes. The series kicked off with a high-octane chase across Romania as the team hunted down the legendary Transfăgărăşan road – Jeremy behind the wheel of an Aston Martin DBS Volante, Richard in a Ferrari California, and James piloting a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder. Further adventures included a hilarious attempt to engineer an electric car that would eclipse the humble G-Wiz, and a delightfully absurd journey with James floating through the skies in a caravan airship while Richard sped alongside in a Lamborghini Balboni. A spirited test drive of the Renault Twingo RS 133 led to an unexpected detour off the docks in Belfast, and later, the presenters staged a playful art exhibition in Middlesbrough, determined to prove that cars deserve recognition as works of art. Following their tradition of ambitious global expeditions – echoing trips to Vietnam, Botswana, the North Pole, and the United States – Episode 6 was a sprawling 75-minute special filmed in Bolivia. Finally, Jeremy embarked on a whirlwind review of the BMW X6, taking it for a spin across Hong Kong, Spain, Barbados, and Australia. To celebrate two years of motoring mayhem, the season concluded with four “Best Of Top Gear” specials, revisiting the most memorable moments from Series 13 and 14.
