Synopsis

The long wait has yielded results; the net is tightening around Karla’s agent. A deal has been struck: the agent will be exchanged for several captured English spies held by the KGB. Yet, Prideaux remains missing, and Smiley still has a score to settle with the traitor. With the Circus’s leadership decimated and the process of containment underway, Smiley cannot yet re-enter the fray, but he remains to gather the scattered fragments.
