Synopsis

For the New Year's celebration, Eddie and Joys daughter, Allison, returns home. A difficult message from her boyfriend prompts Allison to seek comfort with her mother, a situation that leaves Eddie feeling strangely adrift. At the Woodcocks' New Year's Eve party, Eddie makes an effort to appear jovial for his daughter’s sake. But as midnight approaches and the new year arrives, Allison understands that she appreciates her father – his intensity, his shadows, his strength – precisely as he is.
