Mumm-Ra summoned Amortus, a being he had banished to the Land of No Return centuries past, commanding him to destroy Lynx-O. Amortus forced Lynx-O’s craft, the Thunderstrike, to plummet from the sky, then laid a hand upon his face. The touch unleashed a spell that convinced Lynx-O he was an exile, and so he departed, choosing to join Amortus in the Land of No Return.
