Synopsis

Suppose every event that has been, is, or will be across the universe is already fixed, and our efforts to alter our fates are ultimately futile. Prior to the advent of quantum uncertainty, physicists largely held the view that free will was a fallacy. Now, neuroscientists and geneticists have joined the debate, contending that free will is an illusion fostered by our inherited predispositions, the automated workings of our minds, and the pervasive influence of societal norms.
