I recently completed episode 5, and I’m already wanting to see what happens next! So far, it's a good series with an intriguing concept and a reasonably engaging storyline. What stands out most is that after watching the initial episode for around 20 to 30 minutes, I noticed something I’ve been missing in American television – a genuinely entertaining plot. I say this as someone who grew up here. There are certainly some worthwhile shows being made currently, but they're not common. *Three-Body* prioritizes an engaging narrative and avoids the real-world problems, political commentary, and overt moralizing that seem to dominate much of what’s available. Also, after about five hours of watching, I haven’t encountered any offensive remarks aimed at anyone. It’s refreshing not to hear dismissive comments or barbs directed toward specific groups or men. This is my first experience with a Chinese series and one of the few non-English language programs I've watched. I was concerned that reading subtitles would become tiresome, but they weren't really a problem beyond needing to rewind twice when the dialogue moved too quickly for me to keep up. The plot has captured my attention so far, and while the presentation and acting are noticeably different from what’s typical in Western productions, it hasn’t bothered me. I am eager to continue watching this series, and it's likely to encourage me to explore other Chinese shows and programs from various countries.
