I tuned in because Anthony Hopkins was involved, but what followed wasn't really impressive. The series seems to be aiming for something akin to *Rome* or *Spartacus*, yet it falls short across the board. While a handful of performers delivered decent performances, others were noticeably lacking. The writing felt lackluster and uninspired, filled with dull dialogue and a storyline that was easy to anticipate. The visual effects weren't well-executed; it seems like the sensible approach would have been to avoid CGI altogether if a high standard couldn’t be achieved. And predictably, we’re presented with stories centered on LGBTQ+ characters—frankly, I don’t care. It feels as though nearly every television program or film now prioritizes pushing this kind of agenda, which invariably detracts from the narrative and diminishes its quality because attention is diverted from telling a good story.
