Synopsis

Thomas waited, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows across the schoolyard. He was expecting Dennis, the new diesel engine tasked with delivering roof tiles. Dennis, however, seemed determined to avoid work. The engine stalled repeatedly, coughed and sputtered, and finally declared a breakdown, a transparent ruse to evade the delivery. Dennis's deception, though born of laziness, would soon unravel. The lie, like a faulty engine part, was bound to cause trouble.
