Synopsis

The Fat Controller, unwilling to halt the railway line for repairs, instructed the main line engines to proceed with caution as they crossed. This caused delays, pushing back their arrival to meet Bertie and ultimately frustrating Thomas. He grew quite annoyed until he realized, with a surprising clarity, that being late wasn't always a misfortune.
