Synopsis

A French salvage vessel, scouring the depths for a downed World War II fighter, unexpectedly raises something other than wreckage. A viscous black oil surfaces, coalescing into an alien form with a disturbing ability: it can inhabit living beings. Drawn to the anomaly, Mulder travels to Hong Kong to investigate the broker who supplied the French with the coordinates. There, he encounters Krycek, who has been trading in information gleaned from the MJ documents. As Mulder makes preparations to br
