Synopsis

The fate of the twenty-four hopefuls hangs in the balance. At the close of today’s broadcast, they will learn if they have been selected to proceed to the live stages. With only three places available in each category, the judges – Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue, Cheryl Cole, and Louis Walsh – face difficult choices. Host Dermot O'Leary offers encouragement to the performers as they await the results.
