It seems to me that this production has become overly concerned with politics. The performers aren't responsible for what’s disappointing; instead, the adaptation suffers from an insistence on incorporating progressive social messaging that prevents it from faithfully bringing the books to the screen. To put it simply, the series bears little resemblance to the novels and only imitates them. It has been altered and reshaped to align with a perspective that many viewers have grown weary of. I won’t elaborate further.
