I don’t typically enjoy fantasy films or series, but I began watching this one and found it reasonably enjoyable at first. However, the second season proved disappointing, and the third wasn't much better, focusing more on supporting characters than on The Witcher himself. It seems to have incorporated elements that feel out of place and hopefully weren’t present in the original books. Beyond the lead actor's performance, the acting is generally lacking, particularly from some of the female supporting cast. I initially gave it a score of 6, largely due to how strong the first season was; otherwise, it would have been closer to a 3 or 4. Actually, now that I’m writing this review, I'm going to lower my rating to 5 because I’ve realized it wasn’t deserving of a higher mark. Like so many potentially worthwhile movies and shows these days, it’s been compromised by unwanted social messaging.
