The “Original” Witcher’s appeal rested primarily on Jaskier and Henry Cavill; these were practically the only performers who felt appropriately chosen for their roles, while the rest of the cast left something to be desired. The narrative also strayed significantly from its source material, seemingly without purpose. While this divergence occurred in the games as well, it was likely due to limitations regarding exposition that wouldn't translate effectively into a video game format. That isn’t an acceptable justification for a television series, though. One might assume Netflix would have absorbed some of the criticism from prior installments and attempt to preserve what worked while addressing shortcomings. That wasn’t the case. Instead, they discarded any remaining positive perception, amplified their previous errors, and created this unpleasant combination presented as a "show."
