Synopsis

From December 1944 to March 1945, the United States experienced a profound shock as Hitler’s sweeping counteroffensive in the Ardennes forest unfolded. Yet, by mid-March of that year, American forces had crossed the Rhine, while the Red Army stood just fifty miles from Berlin. In the Pacific theater, following weeks of fierce and desperate combat, Iwo Jima was secured, and American bombers commenced a comprehensive air campaign against Japan.
