Synopsis

Mamie Baldwin saw the failing rose bush as a reflection of herself, a harbinger of her own decline. Meanwhile, the tangled affections of others spiraled out of control: Jim-Bob courted Ben’s girlfriend, and Ben, in turn, pursued Jim-Bob’s. The resulting jealousy ignited bitter conflict between them.
