Synopsis

Porter Sims, a reporter from New York, arrived seeking material for a guidebook on Virginia. John-Boy introduced him to the Baldwin sisters, who granted him access to the private papers of their late father, Judge Baldwin. The documents revealed a painful truth: their father had been accused of treason for sheltering Union soldiers during the Civil War. Overcome with shock and sorrow, the sisters resolved to remain within the confines of their home, never to venture out again.
