Synopsis

With John-Boy away at college, Jim Bob felt diminished, adrift. He acquired a guinea pig, a sort of talisman from school. But in the night, the small creature breathed its last. The rest of the family, absorbed in their own pursuits, remained oblivious to his grief. Heartbroken and alone after burying the animal in the woods, Jim Bob fled.
