Synopsis

Mrs. Clayborne, a woman of considerable means and recent widowhood, charged John Walton with the theft of antiques during his employment at her estate. Desperate for new tires, John pawned his wedding ring, offering no explanation for the sudden influx of cash. The truth remained elusive until the Clayborne son confessed to selling the stolen goblets, his motive a desperate attempt to alleviate his family's financial burdens.
