Synopsis

June of 1930. Louie Akers, owner of Speak, faced imminent closure. Guzik’s three-week-long failure to supply him with liquor had left him with no choice but to seek an alternative source. Akers paid Johnny $1,142 for barrels of beer and cases of whiskey that had just been delivered by two men. At that moment, a couple of associates of Guzik—Sully and Mac—arrived in a car and began firing at the delivery truck as it pulled away, the vehicle still laden with a substantial quantity of alcohol.
