Synopsis

The year was 1929. Chicago. Fifteen years on the force, and now Mike Brannon faced suspension for actions taken in a hospital ward – actions involving one of Tony Lamberto's small-time dealers. Brannon felt a bitter resentment towards Captain Bellows, who offered no support. A strained silence hung in the air as the Captain requested Brannon’s weapon. For a heartbeat, the gun was leveled at the officer. Then, with a slow turn, Brannon reversed the gesture and walked away.
