"The Uncanny Counter," adapted from Jang Yi’s 2018 webtoon "Kyeongirowoon Somoon," is a live-action show featuring Jo Byung Kyoo, Yoo Joon Sang, Kim Se Jeong, and Yeom Hye Ran as individuals who track down evil spirits. I was really impressed by how the various plot threads were crafted; they all came together so seamlessly, which allowed the characters to shine and reinforced the series’ underlying messages. The actors portraying the main characters delivered such strong performances that it felt like watching a genuine account of events unfold. The music, production quality, editing, and directing were all excellent. The fight sequences had impressive choreography that felt believable for ordinary people; anything more would have seemed unbelievable. It's not common in Asian dramas to see a series concluded so effectively, leaving the possibility open for another season or sequel. Stories shouldn’t be abruptly cut off—leaving viewers to imagine what happens next—because that prevents any potential official continuation. The fact that season 2 has already been approved really highlights how important it is to leave room for future installments. It was a great series, and I'm looking forward to the next one.
