Synopsis

Just as the noose tightened around the neck of the Confederate spy, the rope gave way, and he plunged towards the churning water. A surge of liberation coursed through him as he swam to shore, a desperate sprint carrying him homeward to the waiting embrace of his family. But with that hard-won freedom came the chilling certainty of a future shadowed by inescapable consequence.
