Synopsis

A tremor of dread seized the old man; the thought of his grandfather clock falling silent was a prospect he could scarcely bear. He believed, with a conviction born of years, that its steady tick was inextricably linked to his own life force, and that should the pendulum cease its measured swing, his time would end as well.
