Synopsis

Agnes lived for the somber rituals of mortality, finding a strange sort of solace in the processions to the cemetery. She haunted funerals, not out of grief, but as if observing a particularly intricate drama. One night, a wounded thief, desperate and bleeding, forced his way into her house. Agnes watched him, a stillness settling over her as she allowed his life to ebb. She would wait, she thought, for the appointed collector.
