Synopsis

The celebrated author of children’s books made a visit to the bedside of a young boy who was ill, and read to him from one of her stories. Afterward, back in her own home, she found herself unsettled by the sound of children's voices echoing through the rooms. His parents explained the source of the strange sounds, their words heavy with sorrow: the boy had passed away.
