Synopsis

In 1916, a young woman and a boy from a reform school for troubled youths discover love and plot an escape from her father, the school's superintendent. He discovers their affection and, disapproving, confines his daughter and punishes the boy. With the aid of a wandering vagrant, the girl finds a method involving a book to transport herself and the boy to a primeval world, where they transform into wolves and find freedom in their shared existence.
