I’ve checked out the first two episodes of CBS’s The Twilight Zone, and something feels off. It appears they are deliberately portraying certain groups—likely those who would actually grasp the show's themes—in a distorted way. While I have problems with how characters are being depicted, it has to be admitted that the execution is skillful. This just strengthens my suspicion that the series aims to solidify the conventional portrayals of character types promoted by mainstream institutions. It’s not obvious unless you actively consider it and already possess some awareness, and this subtle element runs throughout the episodes so far. That's another reason why I believe there’s a purpose behind it.
