Synopsis

The news of King Francis, a friend and rival of many years, and his steadfast companion, the soldier Charles Brandon, both nearing their end, drew Henry’s thoughts inward, towards his own mortality. As he confronted the prospect of death, he found himself haunted by the specters of his former wives, each granted a final opportunity to address him.
