Synopsis

The summer stretched long and hot, marking the thirtieth year of Henry VIII’s reign and well into his middle age. He took his fifth wife, Katherine Howard, during this season. Her modest origins, coupled with her youth and beauty, stirred a keen familiarity within the King's court, particularly among some of his adherents, most notably the handsome young servant Thomas Culpepper.
