Synopsis

Henry retreated into private grief following the queen’s passing, a period of seclusion that offered enemies of the crown a chance to strike. Several of the king’s friends within the court were murdered. Meanwhile, Thomas Cromwell grew uneasy with Henry’s lack of opposition to the new Church he was establishing, a church marked by striking similarities to the doctrines of Rome.
