Synopsis

Henry’s forbearance reached its limit, and he secretly married Anne. He then installed his Lutheran chaplain, Thomas Cranmer, as the head of the Church of England, effectively dispossessing Queen Katherine of her rank and dignity. The king and his new queen welcomed their first child, only to find themselves disappointed by the birth of a daughter, whom they christened Elizabeth.
