Synopsis

For his vehement condemnation of Martin Luther, the Pope bestows upon Henry the title "Defender of the Faith." Yet, a near-fatal experience prompts the king to urgently seek a means of securing an heir. Princess Margaret is betrothed to the aging King of Portugal with reluctance, but the marriage proves brief. Henry’s fascination with Anne Boleyn deepens as she returns to her family’s estate.
