Synopsis

Despite the lavish spectacle of the "Field of Cloth of Gold," a ceremony intended to demonstrate his loyalty to France, Henry VIII considered an alliance with Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor of Spain. Meanwhile, within the royal court, a rival met with a swift and decisive end, and the queen delivered an illegitimate son to the king.
