This eight-episode criminal thriller, currently streaming on Netflix, incorporates elements of dark comedy and drama, featuring Jamie Dornan ("50 Shades" trilogy) alongside Danielle Macdonald, who portrays Probationary Constable Helen Chambers—a character among the most endearing I’ve encountered. The rapport between them is remarkable and charming, providing a welcome contrast to the intense narrative that includes numerous violent scenes and impressive landscape shots of the Outback. The story follows a man driving through the Australian Outback when he's suddenly chased by a truck, reminiscent of "Terminator." After an accident knocks him off the road, he loses his memory and embarks on a journey to uncover his history. Overall, Dornan’s performance is strong, and the series maintains a gripping atmosphere until around episode five, feeling somewhat less impactful in the later installments. The story would have been complete with just one season; it felt like it could have concluded there. Because of this, I'm rating it an 8.0 out of 10.0 / A-. Season 2 is now available on Netflix since February 28th, although it’s currently airing on BBC One in Ireland.
