Synopsis

The year is 1941. On Terminal Island, California, Chester Nakayama exists in a world defined by the close-knit boundaries of his Japanese American community, yet simultaneously navigates a life striving for assimilation into the mainstream. As extraordinary events threaten to shatter both his world and his sense of self, Chester is forced to confront the core of his identity. He must define the man he wishes to be, all under the weight of watchful eyes.
