This show, The Terminal List, moves at an agonizingly slow pace and relies on tired tropes while delivering senseless brutality. Despite strong performances from everyone involved, the story feels like a struggle to get anywhere worthwhile. It progresses with such deliberate slowness that it becomes tiresome, burdened by frequently awkward and predictable portrayals of the U.S. military. When the plot does advance, it leads to bleak situations characterized by brutal and empty violence. I had hoped to enjoy this series as much as I enjoyed Jack Reacher. However, where Reacher’s violent moments were balanced with logic, excitement, and action, this show is largely its opposite, which explains why it doesn't connect.
