As Yoshiki and Hikaru join their classmates on a foreboding mountain path, a stranger arrives in Kubitachi Village and commences an inquiry.

The echoes of his childhood spent with Hikaru stirred within Yoshiki, a persistent ache of unresolved feelings. Overwhelmed by this lingering complexity, he found himself reaching out to Kurebayashi in a moment of desperation.

At the summer festival, Yoshiki accompanies Hikaru while the village elders murmur with concern over a recent passing. Meanwhile, Tanaka finds himself with more inquiries than resolutions.

A disturbing cluster of hair in the bathroom catches Yoshiki’s sister’s eye, prompting Hikaru to pay a visit to the Tsujinaka residence for an inquiry. However, the investigation quickly spirals into something far more perilous.

Yoshiki and his classmates considered the story their teacher had assigned. Later that night, during a sleepover, Asako’s keen insights inadvertently placed her in a precarious situation.

Yoshiki and Hikaru delve into the matter of Nonuki-sama, seeking to understand its connection to the past of Kubitachi. Within the library's hushed halls, they receive a significant clue from an unexpected quarter.

Kurebayashi imparted her understanding of imperfections to the young men. Afterward, the elder Takeda, visibly angered by Hikaru’s lack of knowledge regarding the history of the Indo people, lost his composure.

An unexpected meeting with Tanaka results in an injury that requires hospitalization for the boys. Upon their return to school, Yoshiki begins to unravel the mystery surrounding Nonuki-sama.

With some reluctance, Yoshiki inquired of his father regarding the Indo family’s shadowed history and their veiled ritual. Afterward, Hikaru succumbed to a sudden loss of composure at school, left profoundly disturbed by the experience.

As the school gathers for assembly, Asako seeks out Hikaru, finding him adrift in the corridors. Meanwhile, alone on the shore, Hikaru lays out his final intentions for Yoshiki.
