Synopsis

Having ensnared the widowed king through enchantment, a malevolent witch found his children a hindrance to her dominion. Discovering their secret refuge, she transformed the three princes into ravens. The birds then conveyed a grim decree: for three years, three months, and three days, the princess would be silenced; should she break this vow, she and her beloved princes would remain forever bound to the avian form. From an old German folk tale.
