The students at West Ham high are transported on school buses for a camping trip, only to discover upon their return that their town is deserted, all routes out are sealed, and they’re cut off from any contact with the outside world. They're forced to learn how to survive independently and provide for themselves. They have to investigate a murder, establish a way of living, and determine what has become of everyone else. The teenagers’ personal limits, relationships, and ability to make choices are challenged as they attempt to manage without any parental or adult support. I found this series quite believable and engaging. There's a good amount of unexpected developments and characters who are easy to root for alongside some you won't like so much. Similar to many young people, the teens initially indulge in partying and taking advantage of the absence of adults. Their perspectives change as they come to terms with the possibility that they might be isolated indefinitely, prompting them to conserve food and create a structured community. Security personnel are assigned, a leader is selected, and even a group is formed to try and find a way back home. However, things quickly deteriorate as their system begins to break down, leading to power struggles and teens resorting to individual action when things don't go according to plan. One of the characters also becomes pregnant and anxious due to the lack of medical care available. The performers did an excellent job portraying their roles and making them seem genuine. Individual character storylines add depth and make it difficult to stop watching.
