Synopsis

A tremor of outrage seized Homer. The current practice of tipping had spiraled into an absurdity, a grotesque distortion of fairness that quite unsettled him. He found himself increasingly bewildered by the expectations placed upon patrons, a system that seemed to reward deference rather than genuine service. The whole affair struck him as deeply illogical and, frankly, rather rude.
